You were young-but that is scarcely to your credit
Pretty - as one expects the young to be.
And you were very much in love with me.
And half I lured it on, and half I fled it,
Till honour turned its foolish face on mine
Taking for allies music and good wine -
And told me what I ought to say: I said it.
